Best time to visit
The best climbing conditions occur during the two dry seasons, typically from mid-December to mid-March and from June to October.
Access requires a multi-day trek to reach the base camps, such as Shipton's or Austrian Hut. Climbers must be prepared for high-altitude conditions and should hire certified local mountain guides. Permits are required for entry into Mount Kenya National Park.
