Laikipia Wilderness Palm Camp

An exclusive-use tented camp opened in 2023 on the Ewaso Narok River upstream of Laikipia Wilderness Main Camp, with six raised tents all facing the water.

The stay

Settle into Laikipia Wilderness Palm Camp

Palm Camp is the newest riverside camp of Laikipia Wilderness, opened in 2023 on the Ewaso Narok River about 15-20 minutes' drive upstream of Main Camp on the Ol Doinyo Lemboro Conservancy. It is booked by one group at a time, with a minimum of four adults. Six tented rooms stand on wooden stilts, each with a veranda facing the river, an enclosed en-suite bathroom and beds that can be set as double or twin; a separate cottage is available for a private guide. The open-plan mess has a bar, lounge and long dining table, and a lawn runs down to the water, where elephants, giraffe and antelope come to drink in the dry season. Unlike the other camps it is surrounded by an electric fence, so guests can move about more freely. Activities are shared with the rest of Laikipia Wilderness: game and night drives, walking, wild dog tracking, fishing, biking, fly-camping and river swimming or rafting when conditions allow. The camp runs on solar power, with Starlink Wi-Fi in the mess. It suits families and friends travelling together and photographic groups running private workshops.
