Laikipia Wilderness River Camp

A small exclusive-use camp of thatched cottages on the bank of the Ewaso Narok River, a few minutes from Laikipia Wilderness Main Camp and sharing its guides and activities.

The stay

Settle into Laikipia Wilderness River Camp

River Camp is the Laikipia Wilderness satellite camp beside the Ewaso Narok River on the Ol Doinyo Lemboro Conservancy, about five minutes' drive from Main Camp and within the same black leopard territory. It is let to one group at a time with a minimum of four adults; smaller parties can book by paying a supplement. Guests stay in thatched cottages that are a little smaller than the tents at the other camps: two family cottages and two double or twin cottages, plus one for a private guide, all with open-air en-suite bathrooms. A central mess and dining area with a fire pit overlooks the river, and elephants and giraffe are often seen on the far bank. The camp uses the same guides, catering and activities as Main Camp, including game and night drives, walking, biking, fishing, fly-camping and river swimming when levels allow. It is unfenced, with Wi-Fi only in the central area. It suits large families, groups of friends and photographic workshops that want their own space.
