Leopard Springs
A small four-tent camp run by Laikipia Wilderness in a quieter, southern part of the Ol Doinyo Lemboro Conservancy, geared to walking and immersive wildlife viewing.
Settle into Leopard Springs
Leopard Springs is the most remote of the Laikipia Wilderness camps, about 40 minutes' drive from Main Camp in a less-visited part of the Ol Doinyo Lemboro Conservancy, where a seasonal river runs along the floor of a valley. It is run in partnership with An African Canvas Ltd and is among the group's more recent openings. Four roomy tented rooms, each set as a double or twin, stand on wooden decks looking into the valley, with en-suite bathrooms that have hot and cold water and flush toilets; there is also a tent for a private guide. Home-style buffet meals are served in a central mess tent, and evenings centre on an outdoor fire. The camp takes one larger group or at most two small parties at once, and it is unfenced. The focus is on walking and on searching for shier wildlife, alongside game and night drives, biking, fly-camping, fishing and swimming when the river is running. Black leopard priority vehicles are not offered from this camp. It suits walkers and guests who want an intimate, traditional-feeling bush camp.
