The stay

Settle into Charlie, Sanjan

Charlie, Sanjan is Nomad Tanzania's Expeditionary Walking Camp in the Sanjan area of the Rift Valley, a dramatic landscape of soaring cliffs, deep gorges and open plains stretching from the heights above Lake Natron to the shadow of the Ol Doinyo Lengai volcano. This is walking country focused on scale and geology rather than big-game density, with Maasai cattle moving through the valleys and vultures riding the thermals. The small, exclusive-use camp of up to 4 A-frame tents operates mid-November to mid-May (the green season), with 2 shared bush bathrooms and a minimum guest age of 16.
