Greystoke
Nomad Tanzania's famous jungle-chic lodge on a white-sand Lake Tanganyika beach, built from reclaimed dhow wood, at the base for tracking wild chimpanzees in the Mahale Mountains.
Settle into Greystoke
Greystoke Mahale is Nomad Tanzania's celebrated lodge on the shore of Lake Tanganyika, backed by the forested Mahale Mountains and reachable only by boat or light aircraft. All of its bandas and the bar are built using reclaimed dhow wood salvaged from the lakeshore, giving each structure its own character. The 7 double bandas are open to views of the lake and mountains, and the lodge is the base for tracking wild chimpanzee troops in Mahale Mountains National Park, alongside beach time, kayaking and boat excursions on the lake. Open June to mid-March.
