Okahirongo Elephant Lodge, an A&K Sanctuary, is one of the remotest lodges in Namibia, set in the malaria-free Purros Conservancy of Kaokoland, reachable only by light aircraft or 4x4. Its earth-toned design blends into the surrounding desert mountains, with seven individually designed chalets and one suite, each with a private gazebo. The lodge focuses on desert-adapted wildlife, including elephant, black rhino and giraffe, and cultural encounters with the local Himba people. Facilities include a swimming pool, library and a restaurant serving daily-changing Italian-Namibian cuisine.
