Best time to visit
Wildlife viewing is rewarding year-round. January and February plus June through September are generally drier and easiest for game drives; the wetter green seasons bring lush scenery, young animals and excellent birding, with occasional disruption on bush roads.

Access is commonly by scheduled safari flight or 4x4 road transfer through Laikipia. Activities must be arranged through the lodge or conservancy and some depend on weather, wildlife and guest ability. Guided walks are conducted with authorized staff; pack layers for cool mornings and evenings. Conservancy rules checked 2026-09-06: game drives require authorized individuals; maximum driving speed is 40 km/h. Use designated roads/tracks; off-road driving requires management approval or an official guide in a Loisaba game-drive vehicle. Only permitted green/brown 4x4 vehicles may enter; saloon 4x4s and minibuses require a management exception. Driving after 19:00 requires management approval. These are conduct restrictions, not evidence that every entrance operates 06:00-19:00. Confirm the actual entrance, access permission and pickup with the supplying camp for KE-4.
