Nimali Tarangire sits on its own private conservancy on the eastern edge of Tarangire National Park, within easy driving distance of Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater. The camp draws on local Maasai culture in its artfully curated artefacts and soft furnishings, and is designed to blend into its surroundings. A signature feature is its underground hide, where guests can watch elephant families and other wildlife at close quarters as they come to drink. There are eight tented suites, each with a private deck overlooking the riverbed and an en-suite bathroom; two are dedicated family suites with two bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, a connecting lounge and a private plunge pool. The décor blends contemporary, organic design with artisanal crafts, natural materials, rich textures, local fabrics and recycled glass accents.
