Tarangire Sopa Lodge is built to blend into its surroundings, hidden among kopjes, ancient baobab trees and grasses within Tarangire National Park, an area known for having the greatest concentration of elephants in Africa, with many visible right around the lodge. The lodge is unfenced, so wild animals move freely through the grounds and guests are escorted to and from their rooms after dark. Public areas include a large marble-floored lobby, a lounge and bar with floor-to-ceiling windows and an outdoor sundowner terrace, a coffee shop, and a dining room decorated with a painted mural and a multi-coloured timber floor set with copper nails, opening onto an outdoor terrace over the park's plains. The swimming pool sits at the lodge's lowest level beside a seasonal dry riverbed, with a central island and bar, and a large outdoor patio is used for dinner service under the stars. The lodge has 75 rooms, including 4 interconnecting rooms and wheelchair-accessible rooms, plus one conference room seating up to 80 people theatre-style.
