Lemala Nanyukie opened in October 2018 in the Eastern Serengeti — a region meaning 'endless plains' in the Maasai language and one of the world's most celebrated wilderness areas. The lodge is located a 60-minute drive east of the Seronera Airstrip in the park's central region, sitting on a grassy savanna dotted with rocky kopjes and shaded by ancient giant acacia trees, with outstanding views across the plains. The area is crossed by the annual wildebeest migration and offers high-density game viewing year-round, historically used for scientific research into predators, especially cheetah, thanks to its large concentration of cats. The lodge's 15 guest suites (13 standard suites and 1 two-bedroom suite) feature canvas walls, cathedral-like tented ceilings, and broad hardwood decks in a light contemporary decor. The main double-volume area has a lounge and bar, an outdoor viewing deck leading to a swimming pool, and indoor and outdoor dining areas, plus a separate spa tent among the trees.
